My Fall 2011 Video Game List

I have decided to make my blog about more than just reviews. Therefore, I am going to start doing blog updates that provide updates on various Video Game news findings... that I find... on the internets. And hopefully if this blog EVER picks up, then I might have my brother design a website dedicated to video games, similar to those of IGN, and Gamespot, only it's my opinion, and it would of course be a much more focused view on video games, as I don't have the money to hire staff to write for me, nor the time to write that much. Any who, here goes my first bit of video game news not pertaining to reviews.

A list of games I am most excited for this 2011 fall, in order of most excited, to not as excited, but still excited. I will include a trailer with each game, as well as the release date to each game etc. so on so fourth, and then some, yada yada yada.

Dark Souls (October 4th)

Dark Souls, is the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls, which was named this generations most difficult game. Dark Souls will be available to both XBOX fans, and PS3 fans, while Demon's Souls was limited to PS3. I am unbelievably excited for this game, it's epic, it's unique, it's dark medieval tone, everything about it just leaks phenomenal. These games are not for the faint of heart though. Demon's Souls made me cry one time... It's true... DON'T JUDGE ME!

Uncharted 3 (Novermber 1st)

Uncharted 3 is the finale to the wonderful Uncharted series. These games have stellar voice acting, stellar soundtracks, stellar graphics, with stellar gameplay, thus making my excitement for this game's campaign off the charts. Additionally, I played the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer beta over the summer, and that was super fun, so that's got me amped for multiplayer as well.

The Ico and Shadow of the Colossus Collection (September 27th)

The ONLY reason this game(s) isn't at the top of my list is because I have played them both before. However, that being said, it is still 3rd on my list for excitement in games, due primarily to the fact that Shadow of the Colossus, is one of my favorite games of all time if not my favorite. Being limited to only PS3 games on my PS3, and no backwards compatibility, I have not been able to play Shadow of the Colossus in ages, so now that it is coming remastered to PS3, I will finally get to play it again which has me just so gosh darn giddy!

Batman: Arkham City (October 18th)

Batman: Arkham City is the sequel to the greatest Batman game ever made; Batman: Arkham Asylum. The first game had an amazing soundtrack, a great story, as well as the great voice actors from the animated series; and the sequel only plans to deliver that and then some. This trailer is just one of many boss trailers of this batman game, I highly suggest you check them all out.

Those are the 4 games I am truly, and extremely excited for! An honorable mention is Resistance 3, but since that game already came out, and I've beaten it etc. It wasn't on the list. Battlefield 3 isn't on here because it's another first person shooter in my eyes. Same goes for Modern Warfare 3 (Although I do have this one preordered for some reason...)

One last note...

THE ALMIGHTY SKYRIM!!!! People who read this I believe would stab me for not mentioning Skyrim. I am not going to lie Skyrim looks spectacular, and this trailer literally made my jaw drop:

That being said; I was not a fan of Oblivion, and have not played any of the other Elder Scrolls games aside from that one. I just wasn't a fan of the first person melee. I am a huge melee fan, not much for magic. I also like 3rd person view more, and Oblivion wasn't cutting it for me in that sense. However, Skyrim looks promising in the changes they've made to melee, and the dragon slaying, with learning dragon tongue looks really epic, so I am definitely excited for this game too, which makes it number 5 on my list, even though I have not pre ordered it. I hope to borrow it, or rent it, or something, just in case there is a repeat with Oblivion, which was disappointment.

It comes out November 11th!

Leave your own top 2011 video game lists in the comments below, or not, your choice. It would be cool if you did though. But whatever. Also, what do you guys think about a video game website ran by me and my brother?
